1 - Riga Radio and TV Tower (368m)

The Riga Radio and TV Tower (Rīgas radio un televīzijas tornis) in Riga, Latvia is the tallest structure in the Baltic countries. It was built between 1979 and 1986. Its highest point reaches 368.5 m (1209 ft), which makes it the second tallest tower in Europe and eleventh in the world. There is an observation platform at the height of 97 m, Riga) from which most of the city can be seen (and in good weather, the Gulf of Riga), and many of the city surroundings.
The tower is built on an island called Zaķusala in the middle of the River Daugava, and the base of the tower is located in the altitude of about 7 m above mean sea level. The tower is said to be able to withstand even extreme wind, at speeds of up to 44 m/s (98 mph), without any noticeable vibration amplitude.
There are two elevators, one in the north-east pillar and one in south-west pillar. The third pillar has the stairs.
The tower started broadcasting in 1986.

Riga LVRTC Transmitter is a mediumwave transmitter in Riga, Latvia, which broadcasts on 945 kHz a music program in DRM-simulcast mode, which may be receivable at night time in wide parts of Europe.Riga LVRTC Transmitter uses as antenna two guyed mast radiators. One of them is a 125 metre tall guyed lattice mast. The other smaller tower is a Blaw-Knox Radiator. It is one of the few existing Blaw-Knox Radiators in Europe. Other towers of this type exist at Lisnargarvey, Ulster, Lakihegy, Hungary, Vakarel, Bulgaria and Stara Zagora, Bulgaria.

The free-standing lattice towers are of the same type as those in many other cities of the former Soviet Union. Riga TV Tower is very good looking!

The Blaw-Knox tower must be built before World War II, as such towers were not built any more after 1940. Please find out, when it was built and its exact height.

As per Wikipedia: The 576 kHz tower is 205m and the Blaw-Knox is 125m tall. The historical mast was built in 1945 and 1946 by German prisoners of war.

What I do not understand is why aren't the masts ½-wavelength. The Blaw-Knox has radiated 317 meters for my lifetime.
