According to the most recent studies available, the hospitality industry's economic impact trails that of San Antonio's financial services industry, estimated at $20.5 billion in 2004; the health care and biosciences industry, $18.9 billion in 2009; the manufacturing industry, $14.4 billion in 2006; and the military industry, $13.3 billion in 2006.
