Why? And how - it's nowhere near the River?

This is going to be such a nice addition to the area, and it's not a box!!

Are the first 5 floors of the tower tied into the podium as parking?

now just tear down the crown and new tower rebuild closer to the corner...then just go ahead and put a sweet tower on top of that walgreens and we are all good!

I saw on Friday (12/1) that they had started to put glass up on this one. A couple of panes were up on the Madison (north) side on the curved portion.

Actually I guess my news about the glass isn't new. In BVic's post you can see the glass was there by Nov. 19th.

1S Halsted actually feels taller in person. Looks like the core is about halfway up, I'm surprised we haven't seen glass going up in earnest at this point. They should rename the building to One South Snail's Pace.

It's only 10 months since they started caissons, not that bad a timeline. I hope the glass looks as good as the rendition. If so it will be a stunner.

Eh, this project has been proposed since Jan 2011. I thought this project was dead until construction started earlier this year.

Well that is very true. Waited for a long time to get it started. I think it will be worth the wait if the glass is done right. They do need to repaint the bridge trim on the Dan Ryan really bad.

maru2501 Dec 13, 2017 4:17 PM

I forget. is there some retail in the base along Halsted?
