Thanks! Now that was an interesting tour of everyday Paris, very cool pictures. Your title might be a bit over the top, but the pictures go a long ways towards making your case. And I'm not talking about the ubiquitous globalized chain stores here but rather the independent ethnic retail and general sense of diversity. Good job!
but man do you have an obsession with Starbucks! do they put drugs in it in France or what :p |

It is also because so many people imagine that Paris can't have this. :D http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/5794/cimg2798vq1.jpg |
I don't care too much about food & Paris but even I find all those Mc Donalds "out of the place." Again, not that it matters too much to me.

Out place ? maybe...but do you know that France is one of most profitable country for MC Donald's ? Generally we identified three countries of Mc Donald's, USA, France and India.
It is weird for the country of fine cuisine. :eeekk: And what else ? There is far more chinese restaurants than american style fast foods in Paris and in France. (It is about 15% of Paris restaurants) I could say that Paris has more chinese restaurant that France has Mc Donald's (over 1000). Quote:

Wouldn't be a suprice considering that turists don't want to eat snails by a mistake when eating at the resturants.:frog: Actully I am pretty shure that I would eat in Mc Donald's too if I where in Paris. |
With only Tourist Mc Donald's would not be profitable.
Unlike that most think Paris is far to be a tourist city, tourists don't go in most districts and see a very little part of the city (Like 20% of Inner Paris), it is in those districts that you find the most Starbucks, McD... The large majority consumers of these globalized chain stores are parisian. Don't be wrong, tourism is far to be the biggest industry of Paris, only 3% of Paris jobs are linked with the tourism compared per exemple at 12 % for the finance. |
