I'd add that if exchanging on a forum like this constitutes "talking", then the "Disney... ewww don't touch me!" crowd is already breaking their rule just by being on here with a number of us.

I am not the biggest Disney fan myself and did not go on my own initiative but I have to say I've been there a few times.

It was not as painful (:P) as I expected it to be, but now that my kids are older I can't say that I am itching much to go back there. In 15-20 years or so, I may end up there again to please my grandkids though.

Meh. As long as you still have it and plan on keeping it for a long time. Who cares? My wife spent several thousand on a sofa set and the cats shredded them all within a few years.

As for Disneyland/world. I went at 35 and had a blast. My wife wants to go one day and we don't have kids.

My wife and I have close family members who went to Disney for their honeymoon as childless 20-somethings. We still shake our heads at that when we think of it, more than 10 years later.

Disney is an easy one as there are millions of kids in the USA who will never go to Disney in their childhood. They may "wish" they could go, but it's not typically going to be a reason for them being ostracized.

There is other stuff that's harder to counter. My wife and I have never been big on Halloween but we never would have dreamt of preventing our kids from taking part. As it turns out one of our kids isn't a big Halloween fan either!

Undecided yet, I like some places that my retirement is able to cover my expenses.
Mexico is very close, but not safe.

People from some parts of the globe will dream of going to a place like Cancun, which is not a place I'd ever voluntarily go for vacation, but turn their nose up at the idea of vacationing in Ibiza. One of the cheesiest places I've ever been in my life is Dubrovnik, Croatia. It was beautiful though.

Hell I went to Tokyo Disney Sea...why? Because I could and I like Disney. It was 100% worth it too lol
