It would be nice to see a skyscraper with some bulk like the Twin Towers were. Even better, why won't a developer bring back the Twin Towers but in a more modern, neo-futurist way? Somewhere in Lower Manhattan, of course.

I wonder what the odds are of the FAA ever being in a position to approve something 2300' tall. This would need the 500'+ spire if built. No use making it 1792' with a stubby little 208' foot stub.

Do you personally know if the unbuilt New York Stock Exchange Tower would have had an observation deck open to the public on the top floor. Every building that has had the title of world's tallest since the birth of the skyscraper had an observation deck high up when they first opened. This is every building ranging from Philadelphia City Hall to the Burj Khalifa. You can imagine how popular an attraction an observation deck would have become if this building was building was built in the late 1990's or early 2000's.
