Passed through the area where this hotel will be built and it is going to make a huge impact in aesthetics in the area. Hopefully, propelling more development in the area and downtown. :tup: to Chris Hill for believing in S.A.

Well I will have a good view of the construction progress..that is until I move into the former Frost Bank Building.

Isn't this totally different, this is the W hotel and the site here is Martin Street and St. Mary's where today the old abandon high rise is sitting, NW corner from Greyhound Bus station. On the far left is the old Crown Plaza hotel that has it's name changed every year.

Yes, the two developments (or rather proposed developments) are not related whatsoever.

That would be great if some kind of development spurs up around that area. Too many abandon buildings! Maybe if the Greyhound station gets relocated around Broadway...that would be a great place for an office tower or high rise hotel.:tup:

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but is there any idea of when this will start demolition/construction?

They will have to return to the HDRC for final approval of both the demolition and construction...it really depends on the amount of time it take to finalize the design of the hotel. It could be two months, it could be a year. After that on to the bidding process for both the demolition and construction of the tower. Possibly third/fourth 2015 or first quarter 2016.

Financing is another thing that regardless of how fast the design is finalized could take quite some time.

Demolition was approved. They have to go back to receive final approval on the design.

Demolition was approved with conceptual approval of the tower...it's a package deal. When the final design is approved they will be able to receive their demolition permits along with permits for the tower. The UDC allows for the HDRC to grant approval of demolition so applicants can proceed with their design and resolve issues that are undetermined due to a demolition not being approved at the time they apply for conceptual approval.
