NEW YORK | Citigroup Center doesn't show up on Google Earth!
Hmmm I just notice that Citigroup Center (601 Lexington Avenue) doesn't appear on Google Earth! It is position in a way that is hidden by other towers. That is kind of sad. :(

I love Google Earth's views of Manhattan and Chicago. :) It's almost as if the city is eating itself!
|
ha that's funny!
|
Shit happens.
Looks like you'll have to activate the 3D view then. :) Oh and hey: When will there be an update for the satellite images?? Some places have changed dramatically and the google images are from the stone age... Example: The Old Chicago SunTimes Bldg. (Trump Site) does still exist, etc.... |
VERY STRANGE....
Strange because you posted this yesterday. Yestorday was also the day I was casually browsing google earth and noticed the same exact thing! |
As it is important as mark in city, this is a pity to google earth. Funny somehow...:jester:

Something went wrong when they patched the images. Look at the lipstick building and the building below it, then the building on 52nd is "under" that block.
|
Yeah that happens on Google Earth sometimes, thats when you really realize that these are satellite images pasted together. The same thing happens with One Shell Plaza in Houston (910 Lousiana Street)
|
The images are taken from planes not satellites.

I noticed the same thing the last month and I had not a logical explanation !
|
A couple of large buildings in Philadelphia are missing as well. They just show up as empty lots.
|
you can see the roof.
anyone want to explain why some buildings lean one way and other another? |
They're taken from planes/helicopters, and obviously they aren't shooting every image from the exact same angle. And seeming how they are flying not very high up off the earth, a big discrepancy in angles forms, almost like if you were to try to stitch a bunch of panoramic photos together .. it just ain't gonna look good.

Another weird one, Time Warner Center. They pasted one of the completed towers on top of the complex underconstruction.
|
Same with 7 WTC, it's just a lot as well.

And that time last year when me and my friend both randomly decided to research Tupac on the same day, and found out about it later when we got to school the next day. As for 7WTC, it's simply under construction on Google Earth. And also check out this thing with TWC: http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/1931/twcsv6.jpg Note the u/c building leaning one way, and the completed roof hovering above and leaning the other way. |
^ Yeah that is one freaky mess up Google Earth pic.
