Care and feeding of skyscrapers?

If somebody wanted to learn how to care for and maintain a skyscraper (office or residential), where would be a good place to learn? Are there books that describe how to look after a large building, websites, or other resources?
I'm a writer and might need the info, and another friend of mine with an interest in large buildings is curious too.

Look up facility management. There are professional organizations (IFMA etc.) and it's a massive industry sector.

"Care and feeding of" is a colloquialism referring to looking after things in general.

Facility management is a good call, thanks!

Long time no see! I was wondering what you'd been up to ...

Anyway, I'd suggest you talk to volguus zildrohar. I'm pretty sure he's done some facilities management at an aging large apartment building in Philly, so he probably has a pretty clear idea what the care and feeding of skyscrapers entails :D
