The four buildings with the connected rooftop is a blatant ripoff of one under construction in Singapore right now.

^^ Actually it might be the opposite. This project was announced back in 2005.
I think it's probably a coincidence since both projects were probably under design at the same time at some stage

It's supposed to look like Stonehenge.

The little sister of Dubai finally has its sleeves up :)

That is a strange design for sure.
I am quite shocket that such a huge project as this can't
produce any better 3D renderings than these.
It's impossible to get a fair impression of the project.

while some might like Architonica, I find their work to be nothing but kitschy crap.

I think it was Looney Tunes, but when I was a kid I remember a cartoon where they always threatened to send people to Abu Dhabi as like banishment from civilization. And now it's getting a supertall. Strange how things change.

Lecom Aug 19, 2008 8:47 PM

Is it 1243 ft to the roof or to the tip of that spire?

malec Aug 19, 2008 9:58 PM

It's the tip I presume.

TANGELD_SLC Aug 20, 2008 5:45 AM

Looney Toons!
