Wow, Edmonton sure had a lot of proposals that never went ahead.

^yup...many of which died from the NEP and many which didnt go because of companies moving to calgary.

I wonder if anyone has a copy of the original 85-floor, 1000'+ Eaton Centre tower proposal. I vaguely remember seeing one a few years ago. Maybe just my imagination... That would have been sweet! Btw, if anyone is interested I'd love to see one my ideas turned into a rendering through sketch up. Anyone wanna collaborate?

least we could do to try to make your city forget about not having a good university, few trees, a weak river valley, and saturation of red necks:>

Early College Plaza proposals

I don't recall seeing these posted.

College Plaza 1970 proposal. (A far sight better than the residential monstrosities that ultimately went up.)

I have never seen that Alberta College/McDougall United Church plan before... Does anyone have any more details about that and when it was proposed? It looks like from the rendering it would have cleared out everything on the western half of that block except the church...

I’m going to say that was after 1982 as you can see the Bell Tower in the background, but perhaps before Manulife was finished in ’83?

I tried to find pictures of them but couldn't

anyone know what I'm talking about..?

/\ yes I do. Looks like Bing (microsoft) doesn't have birdseye views of Honolulu to check, but I do know what buildinds you are refering to.

Curious to see what projects of the current proposals make this list.

canucklehead2 May 4, 2018 6:37 AM

What would make your short list of the 2018 projects?
I think Yorkton Towers in Chinatown is one, Jasper House and North are both DOA Lamb projects right? Maybe Gene Dub's multiple unfinished proposals (The Quarters, Bellamy Hill), tower 2 of Chateau Lacombe, I hope not Alldritt, however it is the Everest of projects in this city to date. This one would break my heart not to see rise even if its not my favourite design for the site and/or height...
