Found this website, it offers what the building looks like inside.
http://hollywoodlocations.com/us-ban...eles-ca-90017/ Some of the building looks a bit dated. I sometimes forget it was built in the 80's. |
I like the color of the building. Really makes it stand out in a positive way and the windows are the right size. Everything is just so right about this one. It deserves an A+.

^Brigham was actually interviewed by Channel 4 and it was on the 6 o'clock news today about this story. It would be a great building for a deck.

This would be so cool if they can make the observation deck happen. First the Wilshire Grand then this.

Awesome! This will certainly be on my must see list next time I am in Los Angeles. According to the article and looking at this picture the first observation deck floor, the 69th floor will be that last setback and will incorporate them as outdoor terraces, the 70th floor will be the enclosed floor above it and the 71st where the restaurant will be is that floor with the really tall windows. What is currently on the 72nd floor, i.e. that floor with windows going all the way around? That looks perfect for something observation/restaurant/bar related. |
the USBT makes a profound statement that you have to see in person to appreciate.
|
The logo ruins the building's crown. It's incredibly tacky, akin to the "Trump" sign on the Chicago tower. I wish the wealthy interests in this country at least had better taste.
|
When will the Library Tower observation deck open? It is already in the ranking list of observation decks by height on wikipedia but I assume it is not open yet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observation_deck

U.S. Bank Tower owner plans to build a rooftop observatory for tourists

The makeover of downtown Los Angeles' U.S. Bank Tower is to include a sky-high observation deck and restaurant offering 360-degree views of the city, the mountains and the ocean. |
It's about time, with the massive terraces the building has, an observation deck is a no-brainer.
|
The 72nd floor is at 963' above the lobby. Does anyone have elevations for floor 69,70,71

US Bank Tower is really stepping up its game these days. Between the new owners wanting their building to meet its full potential, you cant help loving the idea that its basically sayin, "you want a piece of me..eh?!?" to the Wilshire Grand tower. Two competing skidecks on the two tallest buildings after decades of nothing. WTC vs Empire State, John Hancock vs Sears...now US Bank vs Wilshire G. Love it.
The two are the King and Queen of the skyline. Stoked! |

The US Bank Tower is also renovating it's lobby into a hangout for supermodels apparently.

Not sure if anyone has known, but they built a 2 story glass slide that hangs off the 70th floor of the building! I mean its pretty short ride, but its an interesting but scary idea!!!

The observation deck as totally worth the money, took the subway into dtla and got a real taste of the urban string. Something like that was desperately needed to really facilitate a downtown boom. The interiors were modern but not over the top, views fantastic, and it really showcases how great the city really is. Well done oue

Library Tower will still dominate the skyline after Wilshire Grand is topped out.
|
I put up a thread on the Skyspace deck...
I know some of the LA forumers have much better photos than mine. Please, add them here! |

Library Tower will always be the best. The Wilshire Grand isn't looking very super tall at all; just tall.
|
I love this building.

The US Bank Tower was topped out on April 18, 1989 but does anyone know the exact date when it surpassed the First Interstate Bank (Aon Tower)?

How the USB tower would look with an added spire.http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...ly/USBT2_1.jpghttp://i287.photobucket.com/albums/l...ly/USBT1_1.jpg
|
Similar to what I always thought it would be, except mine would be two smaller "crowns" and THEN the spire.

But where would you land the helicopter? ;)

Do any of you miss US Bank Tower being the tallest in the city? I sure do. :( Can we remove the spire from the Wilshire Grand because it already looks nice without it. Besides the entire spire doesn’t even light up at night.
