I have to go with the classics--
1. Empire State Building 2. Chrysler Building |
i'll give you my favorite, and it's probably kinda unusual.
the Tribune Tower in Chicago: http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/z0302a1700/tribune.jpg they don't build 'em like this anymore... wonderful gothic architecture in a skyscraper, with terrific detailing. check out the top: http://chicagouncommon.com/photography/tribunetower.jpg for me, it would be a dream to see a structure like this in downtown boise. it would rekindle my faith that modern architecture isn't all about cost-cutting, but is willing to tip a cap to the great structures and styles of the past. oh, and if you ever get to Chicago, walk around the base of the Tribune Tower and check out the walls at the base, which include inserts from other famous structures and monuments from around the world. to quote emporis: Quote:
i love this building. truely. |
Boisebro, I love the Tribune Tower too--that's one of my all-time favorites.
As for my all-time favorite, though, I've gotta go with the Chrysler Building. It's just perfect in every detail. Beautiful building. Makes me wish I was Spider-Man so I could get THAT close to it.  |

:haha: Boisebro, If you were a woman I think I would develop a crush on you. Wow, I love your pic. |
i'm feelin' a lot of love in this thread for the trib tower... :)
interesting stat: the tribune tower is 464 feet tall. the boise place, if ever built, will be only 4 feet shorter. wouldn't it be groovy to have both in boise? |
Okay, you've talked me into it. I'll trade boise place for the trib tower.

Maybe I'm puttin' in a plug for my home turf, but the One Utah Center doesn't look too shabby.

Hmm...
For my hometown, Vancouver WA, then it is Smith Tower. For my country, USA, then it is Chicago Spire, I guess.. For whole world, the Taipei 101. |
