Sump tube
Some old rip-rap that was missed. |
Thanks for these updates Harry. One of the couple of reasons I miss my old office location. I could just walk on over during lunch and snap picks of the construction. Too deep in the loop for that now!
|
They just drilling and pouring caissons now right? How many and how deep are those supposed to go? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Awesome, thanks for all the updates too!

Looks like they are prepping to pour the Mat pretty soon. Sheeting installed and caisson tops exposed.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-I...o+%2810%29.JPG Sheeting installed at other locations as well. I don't remember this thing having a really deep basement or anything, so probably just enough sheeting to go down 3 or 4 feet to install shallow foundations? https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-h...o+%2812%29.JPG Case was also disassembling one of their drill rigs, so it looks like caissons may be mostly installed. Excavation and shallow foundations should start very soon. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-R...o+%2811%29.JPG |
Thanks for the pics and commentary Swicago Swi Sox!

so now that construction has been stopped does anyone know the time frame of removal of the radioactive metal??? Also does this mean a change of plans for the developer, different site or change the design again???
|
The only thing that's radioactive is your post.

Case moving out - taking their trimmings with them. Case still packing up, these guys busy at work. The sump tube Tieng them all together 2/21 The eternal optimist Asymmetric foundation They were flooding, then draining, each of these - any idea why ? 465 N Park - Site prep to today |

They were flooding, then draining, each of these - any idea why ? :) No sophisticated reason, there are only so many pumps out and so much hose. One guy has something to do in one spot so he has it pumped out and the hose only reaches so far so the laborer puts it in whatever hole it reaches to rather than walk all the way back to the trailer and get another length of hose. Next somebody wants that hole dry so he does the same thing to another hole. |

It looks like the water in the hole had frozen into ice in one of you pictures. Maybe they flooded the icy holes with warm water to melt the ice? They might not have been able to chip away the ice because that could have damaged the rebar?

Just went by this one a little earlier and the crane is up.
