Two 450 footers is greater than one 900 footer because it adds more density. I guess you're still sticking with your theory that the taller a skyline, the better.

IMO, it would be ridiculous to say that Dubai has a greater skyline than San Francisco, given San Francisco's density, architectural diversity, and location right by the Bay. It doesn't eclipse Dubai in height but it certainly does in all the other categories.

And I don't get the Chicago and Sao Paulo comparison at all. Chicago has more height, density, architectural diversity, and prescence than the Sao Paulo skyline.

Yes, Chicago has more density. You heard me correctly. Chicago has more or less one hundred 500 footers. Sao Paulo only has four. Find an aerial view of the Chicago Loop. Don't confuse size with density. Sao Paulo is a more densely populated city but we're talking about built density, in which Chicago has the advantage.

Havent been in here in a while, but LA's skyline seems old to me, and the bank tower adds to the oldness. I want to see glass in LA, Blue glass, just to add variety to it.

^ The Ritz Carlton Hotel Tower (under construction) will have blue glass as well, and is located on the southern side of the skyline, so it will help "modernize" the skyline from that view.

LA is better than Houston and Miami. I will agree Houston has a nice skyline, but its a boring skyline. Nothing stands out. LA's lovely skyline is very modern, rare for Large American Cities. When you look at the skyline you will see several towers that stand out above the rest. The ciy has few glass boxes, actually Downtown dosnt have any.

Personally I think the skyline is perfect the way it is, its virtually stayed the same since 1992. But hell, Park 5th is a great additon to the city.

I was just about to post that. That last picture had to have been taken in 1992 or 1993. IBM Tower, Sanwa Bank, AT&T Building..LA's building's never have the same name for very long.

Btw..this was posted on SSC showing Park Fifth's relation to other skyscrapers in downtown. It's going to be much taller than the Gas Company Tower (750 feet).

My only Complaint is that the tower is lined up with US Bank, so eather it Blocks US Bank, or US Bank blocks Park5th.

Chicago's first skyscraper appeared sometime in the late 1800's. Los Angeles City Hall showed up in 1920 something (can't remember exactly when). Then NO skyscrapers were build in LA until the late 1960's. You should educate yourself.
