IMO, it would be ridiculous to say that Dubai has a greater skyline than San Francisco, given San Francisco's density, architectural diversity, and location right by the Bay. It doesn't eclipse Dubai in height but it certainly does in all the other categories. And I don't get the Chicago and Sao Paulo comparison at all. Chicago has more height, density, architectural diversity, and prescence than the Sao Paulo skyline. It seems as if your motives in here are to cause dissension, giving those who are in "denial" a "reality check." Well, when in reality, it is you who is in denial my friend. Now leave this thread. |

I suppose you know 450' is not greater than 500' and not considered 500 footer. I am done with you John Kerry ! I guess the whole LA hates me now, cuz I said 'not good' things about this city. |

One and two California Plaza already got blue glass, but you're right not many others have it. This building could be another addition. The proposed metropolis may also have blue glass.
|
^ The Ritz Carlton Hotel Tower (under construction) will have blue glass as well, and is located on the southern side of the skyline, so it will help "modernize" the skyline from that view.
|
Look guys, i'm really sorry. All you guys are right. Any comments not relating to Park Fifth are irrelavent and must be taken out of this thread. And I know I may sound hypocritical, but this includes your comment right now Colemonkee about the Ritz-Carlton....
On the contrary, you seriously need to stop being irrational WestSideLife, you were a little late for that feud earlier.;) Besides, even after I made my ridiculous comments, we were already getting back on track on the topic, that is until you found your way into this topic and made things worse. |
Aluminum, get the hell out of here. You dont know shit about skyscrapers are skylines.
LA is better than Houston and Miami. I will agree Houston has a nice skyline, but its a boring skyline. Nothing stands out. LA's lovely skyline is very modern, rare for Large American Cities. When you look at the skyline you will see several towers that stand out above the rest. The ciy has few glass boxes, actually Downtown dosnt have any. You cant argue with these pictures. http://www.indexstock.com/Store/View...ock-380595.jpg http://www.indexstock.com/Store/View...ock-405482.jpg Personally I think the skyline is perfect the way it is, its virtually stayed the same since 1992. But hell, Park 5th is a great additon to the city. So Aluminum, go the hell away. You started the fight, now lets end it. |
^^^ Oh, I am so impressed with those pictures,:omg:, such a massive skyline, twice the size NYC I'd say !
And then again this building could be nice addition to it. Tell some photoshop experts to add Park Fifth to it. |
Wow the photos are super uber old. 'Security Pacific' isn't it now Bank of America??

I was just about to post that. That last picture had to have been taken in 1992 or 1993. IBM Tower, Sanwa Bank, AT&T Building..LA's building's never have the same name for very long. Btw..this was posted on SSC showing Park Fifth's relation to other skyscrapers in downtown. It's going to be much taller than the Gas Company Tower (750 feet). http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b4...3232copy-1.jpg (Pic taken by Colemonkee) Sorry. |
Edit: thanks, ThreeHundred.
JDR, you're right! |
Ok heres a treat for everyone.
I made a quick model of Park5th in Google sketchup, inserted it into the Google Earth LA skyline. (I made most of the LA buildings in the pics too) :) Its going to be much more prominent that I thought!! Unobstructed from the Transamerica Center Resturant! http://i8.tinypic.com/5y9hrbs.jpg Very Nice! http://i9.tinypic.com/4lxxpnp.jpg Very Prominent from Dodger Stadium! http://i13.tinypic.com/4vq1k7p.jpg Very VERY noticable from Staples Center! http://i11.tinypic.com/5x4n62v.jpg My favorite view, fills in the Gap between Bunker Hill and Downtown. http://i14.tinypic.com/4l6mg4m.jpg My only Complaint is that the tower is lined up with US Bank, so eather it Blocks US Bank, or US Bank blocks Park5th. If anyone wants anymore views just ask! |
