There was some sort of unveiling this week. Hopefully more renderings will appear soon.

Chamfers, not contortions: the OMA design for 550+ foot tower in S.F. Is remarkably sedate.

I just realized Fougeron Architecture is working on this with Rem Koolhaas and with SOM on Block 9 next door.

Those renderings are like a soft focus camera on an old actress- can't see the details. But I'm excited. I love the architect's work. I'm also pleased to read that Meier's Van Ness & Market tower is still moving forward.

I'm sure the details, much as with sculpture, will be fine-tuned later, but I really like the start!

Well, it's certainly an intriguing look!

Shwanky.

Love the design. Congrats San Fran. I look forward to seeing the Transbay area completely built out.

It's like Nouvel's tower in Barcelona had sex with 101 California.

Pretty interesting looking.

I think I love it, but the detailing on the tower could be a little cleaner (in the renderings, not the design). But what I see, I love.

I'm a big fan of the little alleys that are incorporated into a lot of these new SOMA projects. They're a great way to make a high-rise, large-block district feel more human-scale.

Reminds me of the best aspects of Yaletown, Vancouver.

JWS May 21, 2014 7:06 PM

So how high do we think the crown looks? 550 feet + ???

Onn May 21, 2014 7:11 PM

Nice tower, I'm like this! Another great addition to the Transbay region! :)

Don't know about you guys, but I'm seriously blown away by these! This is the building I was meant to live in, or at least squat in when it's eventually abandoned...
