Edmonton and Calgary had some doosies that were scrapped....both skylines would be significantly different if they had come to pass.

Calgarian Apr 7, 2008 9:57 PM

CtrlAltDel did a render of what Calgary's Skyline would have looked like if these were built. I'll try to find it.

Edit, here it is. The Bow is thrown in for reference.

Ahh! I love all those buildings! What a loss none of them were built!

davee930 Apr 8, 2008 5:10 AM

FCC2 and Alberta Plaza would've been awesome to have in the skyline.

Calgarian Apr 8, 2008 1:58 PM

The Alberta Plaza is my favorite. I think you could still build it with few changes.

Aleks Apr 8, 2008 11:19 PM

I love Alberta Plaza. It's a great design. I actually based some buildings on Sketch Up out of Alberta Plaza. What a loss.

Jarrod Apr 9, 2008 12:43 AM

I like Alberta Plaza too.

Am I one of the only ones who has no love for FCC I and II?

Calgarian Apr 9, 2008 12:59 AM

^Probably. FCC1 is one of the nicer buildings in Calgary.

a couple more of McIntyre Plaza. I think it was going to be built on the block between 6 and 7 Avenues, and 3 and 4 streets SW. I think it was to be 75 floors.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that Singer one. It looks like a 600m Bromley.

those McIntyre renders are cool. Too bad that one didn't get built too.

Didn't someone have a bunch more cancelled projects?

MolsonExport Apr 10, 2008 4:29 PM

RobD has a bunch. There should also be a thread buried somewhere in the Alberta subforum.

That thread is where I got the first few, maybe when I have more time I'll sift through that thread and post more.

Fuck... I'm pissed off that the James Short School was torn down to build a piece of shit like that. Glad we eventually got TCPL instead though.

Calgarian Apr 23, 2008 9:01 PM

TCPL is definitely better than that would have been.
