MONTREAL | Evolo 1 | ~100M | 31 FLOORS

Love the interiors, more so than the cladding. This is still a nice tower though, worthy of being placed downtown!
|
Is this tower in Broussard?
|
Nope, it's actually on nun's island.
|
It's at the northern tio of Ile de Soeurs, right here - http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/map...64264&z=16&t=k

Thanks to all for the clarification.

La vue du Évolo en construction est très bonne du westmount square!
the view of the construction is amazing from westmount square I'll take a photo next time |
It's actually... decent. Will this be the tallest on Ile de Soeurs?
|
The current tallest on the island is a 30 floor condo right now, do these just might equalize or take the edge.
By the way which floor are they at now? |
Evolo 1 is the building in the background and is the one under construction. The white and blue tower is currently on sale and is called Evolo 2. On this part of the island, 4 to 5 30 floors-ish towers are planned, as well as many other shorter condo buildings with shops and restaurants included at street level. Townhouses are also planned. You can see some of them behind the white tower.

Pointe Nord, Nuns' Island
Indeed, these buildings are on Nuns' Island. They are part of a new neighbourhood called Pointe Nord, which is a mixed-use development, with charming commercial and waterfront parks and paths. It is more urban than anything Nuns' Island has seen before.

Hi Martin. Yes, I am working with the developer. The project is not urban in that it will never be a downtown core, but we are in the process of signing-up quality commercial tenants including bakeries, restaurants and much more and the mainstreet will feel like a small urban heart of the neighbourhood. Let are a lot of elements that went into the planning process that help make this urban retail. It will take some time but by next summer the urban element will start taking shape.

I realize that the sterile glass box is everywhere these days, but had hoped Montreal would be spared. I guess the days of grand Montreal buildings is over.
