It does seem almost certain that the height of 277m to the top of the mechanical box is close to the actual height.

wow, massive building! Still no supertall in Canada. :(

sbarn Apr 5, 2012 11:19 PM

Wow massive building! How is Toronto going to keep filling these towers? It seems like they keep getting bigger and bigger...

Innsertnamehere Apr 5, 2012 11:25 PM

if we can just get a new tallest building by the end of this boom, I'll be happy.

Does Toronto have FAR (Floor Area Ratio) that limits the size of building bulk on a particular plot? What would keep a developer from going over 1000'?

it not being economically feasible is the only restriction right now, with the exception of the entertainment district. there, there is a strongly enforced height limit of 157m.

What about Aura, Four Seasons, and One Bloor ??

There is nothing on the books.. I don't think so.

note, One bloor is still at 238m, and with a flat roof. I think we lost the slanted roof in recent designs, so its flat, and I am waiting for an official height for the recent increase to 75 floors before increasing it.[/QUOTE]

Bearing in mind the elevation changes between Yorkville and the CBD, this and 1 Bloor are going to look gargantuan coming downtown from the north. Four Seasons looks huge and it's only 700'.

caltrane74 Apr 6, 2012 3:20 AM

Yorkville is set to become the Midtown Manhattan of Toronto.

I was thinking the same. Driving down the DVP the Four Seasons looks very tall, this with another 200' in height will be massive on the skyline.

We have a Trifecta!!

caltrane74 Apr 7, 2012 12:38 AM

a bit further down Bloor you'll find the application and elevation renderings.

Posted the tower so squat, as to not scare the neighbours

I don't suppose you can get any cassius renderings?

caltrane74 Apr 8, 2012 12:01 AM

Probably not too much longer before we get a rendering.
