^ precast concrete columns. Presumably they will eventually be matched with precast beams and slabs.
I haven't personally used this type of construction in any project I've worked on, but it seems like it would work pretty slick. Especially in cold weather, forming and building the concrete offsite in a heated, controlled environment. |
That is pretty slick. Will the exterior slabs be precast as well?
|
^ not sure. But I presume if they are using this construction technique, they will try and maximize its use throughout the building.

It sure goes up fast this way.

is the Glasstower starting as well or is it only ALT at the moment?

The Glasshouse/parkade site looks to be in the very early stages.

The hotel is to be made of prefab rooms, I believe. So seems like it's a prefab building assembled on site.

Looks like some nice high ceilings! You can see the columns are a lot larger where the tower will be over head. The first two adjacent to the existing building are smaller than the others farther out.

I hope the chairs aren't screwed to the floor though, I like to move the chairs around in hotel rooms. |

glass house is definalty being worked on. theres a drill drilling holes for piles and the site has ben level slightly below grade
|
There's that video at the beginning of this thread showing the Chinese throwing up those building in like two days or something. Pretty impressive. Shows how quick it really can go, but that's having everything ready to go and waiting. I'm assuming the prefab rooms coming from Quebec won't be standing in line downtown to be put in place.
