I certainly agree with DMRyan we don't hear enough of new Dallas projects on here and this is a refreshing thread-thanks Freaky D! I gotta say for a guy who now lives in my homestate (ok your just on the other side of the hills in ole Grand Junction) you rep the Big D of Texas very well.;)

I hope 7C and all the rest of the finished products at West Village closely resemble the renderings. Looks very fine indeed.

The LBJ Tunnel is a very fine, massive, and impressive local area public works project.

Here's a shot of it u/c back in August, much more progress since.
In the photo, you can see just how large scale they're making this one with 4 tracks for DARTs new Yellow Line (w/branch) and 2 tracks for the already existing special events stop on the DART/FWTA Trinity Railway Express.

Well, this one is hot off the press as of this morning.
Signs went up and forumers were all over it on another forum.

A condo tower that complements the Federal Reserve Bank, near the Arts District in Uptown. Working title: 'Reserve Tower.'

A modest 16 stories right next to the FRB located at Fairmount and Woodall Rodgers. The site is small and has awaited an announcement for ages - the odd empty lot directly across from Booker T. Washington (other side of freeway.) Anyhow, another stepped infill project.

Downtown Big D is Big Donut

Here's a rough map of the major redevelopment areas in downtown. The dark grey areas are in prime development mode. The red circles are recent projects that are finished. The red star is a painting I did in Deep Ellum's Art Park... he he.. shameless self promotion there.

The only thing I left out is the new Cowboy's stadium which is just to the south of the map off of Industrial Blvd.

As you can tell... the downtown core is surrounded by development.

Here's an article over at DMag about the Renzo Piano/R. Nasher's Sculpture Center design et al:
http://www.dmagazine.com//article.asp?articleid=598

^ That paints a solid portrait of just what the Nasher Sculpture Center is and means. Very good read for true art/architecture followers.

Second link has good shots of the place.
