I hope 7C and all the rest of the finished products at West Village closely resemble the renderings. Looks very fine indeed.
The LBJ Tunnel is a very fine, massive, and impressive local area public works project. |

Victory Station
Here's a shot of it u/c back in August, much more progress since. In the photo, you can see just how large scale they're making this one with 4 tracks for DARTs new Yellow Line (w/branch) and 2 tracks for the already existing special events stop on the DART/FWTA Trinity Railway Express. http://forum.dallasmetropolis.com/at...s=&postid=8068 --------------- Dallas Cowboys Stadium early renderings Location either Center City Dallas or the Las Colinas Urban District Irving. Price tag up to one billion USD. Source. The Stadium ...a domed, air-conditioned, 75,000-seat facility with a retractable roof and open end zones linked to fan decks that could increase seating capacity to 100,000 with reduced-cost tickets. http://www.dallascowboyspark.com/ima...oyspark_11.gifhttp://www.dallascowboyspark.com/ima...tadium_pop.gif The Cowboys Hotel Hotel & Conference Center http://www.dallascowboyspark.com/ima..._hotel_pop.gif The Legends Square http://www.dallascowboyspark.com/ima...square_pop.gif The Cowboys Experience Interactive Sports Entertainment http://www.dallascowboyspark.com/ima...rience_pop.gif The Cowboys Fields Public-Use Sportsfield Complex http://www.dallascowboyspark.com/ima...fields_pop.gif --------------- DART Yellow Line at the other end, comprehensive planning in progress: Carrollton http://www.ci.carrollton.tx.us/devel...cts.shtml#dart Farmers Branch (specific link lost - will retrieve later) Everything inbetween go to http://dart.org , plenty of comprehensive plans to view - look for NW Corridor on the site. |

Renderings of two residential redevelopments of older abandoned buildings in downtown.
1414 Elm, a whopping 8 units for this old thing plus ground retail http://www.downtowndallas.com/downto...r/1414-elm.gif 1217 Main purpose: whole thing will be restaurant/retail/public rooftop garden http://www.downtowndallas.com/downto...257%20main.jpg |

Well, this one is hot off the press as of this morning.
Signs went up and forumers were all over it on another forum. A condo tower that complements the Federal Reserve Bank, near the Arts District in Uptown. Working title: 'Reserve Tower.' A modest 16 stories right next to the FRB located at Fairmount and Woodall Rodgers. The site is small and has awaited an announcement for ages - the odd empty lot directly across from Booker T. Washington (other side of freeway.) Anyhow, another stepped infill project. http://kolache.userworld.com/reserve3.jpg http://kolache.userworld.com/reserve2.jpg http://kolache.userworld.com/reserve1.jpg |

Downtown Big D is Big Donut
Here's a rough map of the major redevelopment areas in downtown. The dark grey areas are in prime development mode. The red circles are recent projects that are finished. The red star is a painting I did in Deep Ellum's Art Park... he he.. shameless self promotion there.
The only thing I left out is the new Cowboy's stadium which is just to the south of the map off of Industrial Blvd. As you can tell... the downtown core is surrounded by development. http://members.aol.com/mattwales/donut.gif |

Here's an article over at DMag about the Renzo Piano/R. Nasher's Sculpture Center design et al:
http://www.dmagazine.com//article.asp?articleid=598 ^ That paints a solid portrait of just what the Nasher Sculpture Center is and means. Very good read for true art/architecture followers. Second link has good shots of the place. |
