While this doesn't exactly contribute to the skyline since it's basically just another wall connected to the adjacent building, the density here is really something. I would love to check out some of these smaller hotels sometime and see what the views are like of the street below and of the Riverwalk. I really like the palm trees, too. I'm always jealous of San Antonio's landscaping in downtown.

I like it from this angle, the infill that it provided looks pretty sweet.

Walked by the site this week and Houston St. in front of the hotel is closed off temporarily. Looks kinda cool with this hotel being constructed and the next door Maverick Apartments being renovated.

Terrific shots. At this scale on downtown's narrow streets, I'd take any number of "street wall" 7-10 story buildings like this over one 800 ft skyscraper isolated by parking lots and retaining walls.

Although, a few 500-600 footers would be nice. Like it or not, cities are defined, to a degree, by their skylines. Let's face it, Tulsa has more buildings over 500 feet than OKC, or San Antonio. But then, I just don't "get it". :shhh: |

And this is a skyscraper page, so surprising, I know, that someone here would be interested in skyscrapers. |
I snapped a couple photos today. This project is sure moving slowly, but it looks nice having a crane downtown.
