Downtown getting second "Riverwalk" with San Pedro Creek investment

6.25 Million being invested into turning downtown eyesore into a usable and natural urban creekway!

Just like the makeover under way on the Mission Reach of the San Antonio River, which the creek intersects south of downtown, the goal is to remove the creek's sheer walls and replace them with sloping banks, vegetation, trails and amenities.

On a personal note, this is something I've wanted to happen to SPC for years. This pretty much came out of nowhere and it's greatly welcomed.

I was really happy when I saw this in the paper. It's way overdue.

I hope that this is only one part of the larger westside creeks project to be developed.
