I hate when the lefties sh*t on True North. We are so lucky to have them as the owners of our hockey team. People have no idea how philanthropic they are without the fanfare.

Could Chipman really be Batman?

bomberjet Apr 12, 2024 5:00 PM

Those darn lefties and their complaining about corporate handouts. We'd never see the righties complaining, would we??

Chipman being philanthropic is great. But everybody can still question and scrutinize when private companies are getting our public dollars.

I have always considered myself a leftie. My friends think I’m a communist. I have moved further left as I’ve gotten older. But the real left has blown so far past me I can’t even see it on the distant horizon anymore. Ha ha.

Isn't there an old saying about that? As a leftie you want society to progress to the point where you can be a conservative haha?

Man, the ads are getting worse and worse on this website. It seems with each passing month they take up more and more of your screen, with it being most noticeable when you access the website from your phone. It's incredibly painful.

An interesting little video out of CBC Calgary on some of the issues around converting office space to residential units. For someone like myself who's not in the construction industry, it seemed like a good overview of some of the plusses and minuses of office building conversion.

https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/video/9.4216716

On a personal note, I found it interesting that they said many Calgary office conversions would not be economically feasible without federal $$. I thought the streets were paved with gold there and they don't need a dime of federal $$??
