Modernism has come a long way from Mies. |
Hyllie Hotel aka. "the Killer Slug", Malmö, Sweden. Merely a proposal at this stage.
Architect: Gert WingÄrdh http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/1...9b7cd0byn5.jpg |
Why does it have to be a killer slug? It looks pretty friendly to me, in fact I hear it has a penchant to ramble on about the latest happenings of its grandchildren. Why just last week they took a lovely day trip to Copenhagen and had gelatos and they all smoked cigarettes down by the pier and got busted by the cops. Or so the slug says.

There is some really nice work here. :) Although I don't really like the Hyllie Hotel, it's too dark & black.

While all those rendering are, as the thread title suggests, Sexy. They all look like just that, renderings. Are any of these actually in existence?
Here are a couple of pics from my home town, while not so futuristic as the above renderings I do think they are both pretty sexy in their own right. Salt Lake City and County building. The BOK Arena is probably the Sexiest building being built in Tulsa right now. Bringing back a little of that class that Tulsa used to be known for.

Milwaukee County War Memorial Center, by Eero Saarinen.
One of my favourite buildings in the city, however, the floating effect was remarkably compromised by the construction of the Milwaukee Art Museum underneath it. This is what it looked like when new: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/113/3...992c5a.jpg?v=0 gabyu on flickr.com http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/8...emorialhm6.jpg warmemorialcenter.org and what it looks like today: http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/4...rialnowkd7.jpg warmemorialcenter.org |
I'm too lazy to make a thread of this and post some of kazillion shots of public buildings that I do have, but I can share the link to my website below. Predock, Mayne/Morphosis, Gehry, Meier, OMA, ect. Civic Centers, Libraries, Museums, University buildings and so on.
