I had some business downtown this morning so I drove down 281 while the sun was rising in the East. It was so cool that the sun disappeared for a couple of seconds while I drove past these buildings. The canyon effect will only get better when the W finally goes up.

I was at the Pearl over the weekend and walked by these; I think they're going to be a fantastic addition to the area. The street interaction, particularly on Pearl Parkway, is going to make a huge impact.

We may not have the market/industries for 50 floor skyscrapers, but I'd be happy if we covered the urban core with dense, 5 to 15 floor developments like these.

Nice pics all over town, babysal. (like button) for all of them!

Is this topped out? One more floor?

jaga185 Apr 5, 2019 4:40 PM

One more floor, Jack!

JACKinBeantown Apr 5, 2019 5:10 PM

Awesome. I like this project a lot. More like this.

Driving by this on 281 heading into DT, this is starting to look pretty impressive. The massing is starting to affect the aesthetic.

Can't wait until they start finishing out. It is making the 281 corridor into DT a most interesting drive.

Imagine that drive in after the W Hotel is built, Jefferson Bank HQ and the 815 E. Ashby development where the correct storage facility is.

And whatever happens with 2100 Broadway (hopefully).

I knew I was forgetting something. Yeah, another 12 story building a couple blocks away will definitely add to the aesthetics of the drive in.

Found this time lapse video of the construction site on the Joeris youtube page. There's some other videos of this site as well. Someone feel free to post the actual video on here for simpler viewing since I don't know how to post the entire video on the forum, or perhaps it's not working properly.

There really needs to be a like button on this forum.

HunterTX Apr 29, 2019 8:48 PM

I wish there was a like button as well.

I was down there Friday night servicing an elevator across the street and can't get over the changes coming to Broadway. It is very exciting. I hope and wonder if they will slowly be able to move/relocate or remove some of the power lines as they slowly develop further down the road as well.

Yes. All those power lines will be buried underground soon. Broadway St is going to have a major remodel.

Does anyone know when that will begin?

There are construction barrels around every telephone pole on the right side. If that's related, I'd say soon.

Is the taller of the two topped out or does it have one more floor to go? I can't really tell.

JACKinBeantown May 8, 2019 5:51 PM

I think it's topped out but they're going to add the trellis like on the other one.

... and apparently add a garish sign.

The video provided in the below article is pretty cool.

Also, the second building is described as 8 floors. Is it 8 or 6?

It's clearly at least 7. Maybe the 8th floor is the second level of what appears to be the bottom floor, or maybe the roof.

The taller building has the same appearance issues... it looks like 11 from the outside, but there's another floor in there somewhere.

edit: In the video it says one of the parking floors is underground. So it seems the buildings are 7 and 11 floors above ground.

I saw, for the taller building, that there is, on the very top floor, a middle section.

SA Express News- 11/27/19

Credit Human’s new headquarters

The shell of Credit Human’s new headquarters at Broadway and Pearl Parkway will be finished in the first or second quarter of 2020, said Elizabeth Fauerso, a spokeswoman for the Pearl complex. The finish-out process will begin then and the 12-story building should open late next year.

Credit Human, which is moving from 6061 W. Interstate 10, is working with Pearl developer Silver Ventures on the project and developing the building with the help of $8.8 million in tax abatements and rebates from the city and Bexar County.

A second eight-story tower with a mix of office, retail and restaurant space is being constructed next door for Bank of America and other tenants. It’s expected to be finished in the second quarter of 2020.

The two towers will share a plaza, fountain and park area and will be the first commercial buildings in San Antonio to use geothermal power for heating and cooling.

Some amazing public art just went up on the building...

Apparently there is another 500 square foot mural planned for the complex on Broadway (this one is facing north).

Great piece in the Rivard Report about all the art that's going in there. It's already is a great pair of buildings, but this just puts it over the top for me. Awooga:

I saw the "Credit Human" sign is partially erected on the south side of the building. I wish they could have found another way to put their moniker up there. It really takes away from what is a beautiful structure.

JACKinBeantown Nov 2, 2020 12:17 AM

Somebody needs to get a photo of the downtown skyline from the top of this building.

The Model Nov 2, 2020 7:21 PM

I volunteer to do the skyline from Credit Human Building! I just have no connections or access to this building. Anyone who can help, I will do it. It needs to be done soon because the leaves on the trees are going to start dropping and everything will look dead soon with winter.

get a hard hat/vest and ask the onsite GC. tell them what you are wanting to do, they may be cool and take you up if they haven't already punched those floors out. If punch out has already happened, may be hard to get up there. Maybe TXDev has some connections.
