Omni Hotels is building a new hotel & condo tower in downtown Fort Worth across the street from the recently remade Fort Worth Convention Center. The 34 story building will feature 604 hotel rooms and 86 condos. At the reported 547' 4" height, it will be the second-tallest building in Fort Worth, passing 1984's D. R. Horton Tower by 4".

Very nice. I saw this project on Walter P. Moore's web site (structural engineers) while researching a Los Angles project. I had wondered about the status of the project, but have to wonder no more.

These two renderings, by fellow Fort Worthian Clint Perkins, show the Omni (on the left in the first image, on the right in the second) digitally added into the Fort Worth skyline. It will indeed make a major change in the skyline, since it's located in the southern part of downtown and there aren't really any skyscrapers there besides the Texas & Pacific Terminal (which isn't visible in either of these images, and is 12 stories).

? How close is this hotel to the Pier 1 Building?

I am not a big fan of the design, but it will make an impressive addition to the skyline.

Around .93 miles or so, almost a mile. The Omni is on the south side of downtown, while the Pier 1 Place tower is on the far west side of downtown by the river.

Very nice! Man, if the building's quality and design is the same as the renderings this is going to be one beautiful building. Fort Worth is very lucky.

In other Omni news, prices for the condos are going to be around $400 per square foot, putting this as the most expensive per-square-foot development in downtown thus far.
