Glad its approved. Now please get rid of the those horrid yellow signs. They are a disgrace to the color yellow...
:wizard: |
It sure is a nice looking building, I wish these types of building would pop up all over downtown Houston but who knows, btw will this be apartments or condos?
|
After being seemingly stalled for the past few years, it looks like this project may be moving forward once more...

I love tall buildings. That's why I was drawn to this website.
That said, this proposal is a turd. |
NIMBYs in Houston? for a 23 story buildling?? WTF
If that's the case nothing taller than this will ever get built in the city. |
It's the only highrise in the neighborhood - http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/map...-95.4028930000
|
^oh ok that makes much more sense... sorry
|
I think the design of this building is suitable for being built in the neighbourhood though.
|
Wow, pretty classy. Wish NYC could get something like this, not that I'm complaining cause NYC has the most development in the U.S currently.

Construction could begin at the end of this year, with delivery in late 2013...

It's going to be hard to get this project off the ground. Lots of very powerful people live on North Blvd, South Blvd, Sunset Blvd, and West Blvds. They own the 1920s mansions sitting on full acres with 100 year old live oaks gracing their lawns. They do not want a highrise in their backyards. Rumors are swirling of blackballing any and every vendor who might get on board with 1717 Bissonnet. If true, then not surprising Mr Linbeck pulled out. Will any other local construction firm pick up the slack?
|
NIMBYism run amuck. Those people need to be slapped hard across the face with a bag of rocks.
|
Linbeck out, Pepper-Lawson in.
