LOS ANGELES | 1027 Wilshire | HEIGHT | 52 FLOORS
Location: 1027 Wilshire Boulevard
Function: Residential | 402 Units Developer: Amidi Group Architect: Chris Dikeakos Architects Completion: 2010 1027 Wilshire Blvd. Amidi Real Estate Group and the Central City Development Group have announced plans for a 52-story residential tower at 1027 Wilshire Blvd. in City West. Hamid Behdad, the former city adaptive reuse czar and president of CCDG, said the project would include 402 condominiums. The construction price of the glass and steel tower is estimated at $380 million; the 522,000-square-foot development would hold 890 parking spaces. Project officials hope to break ground in the first quarter of 2008 and expect construction to last 36 to 40 months. - Los Angeles Downtown News http://www.amidigroup.com/images/102...hire1Large.jpg http://www.amidigroup.com/images/102...hire2Large.jpg |
1027 Wilshire Developers Remain Optimistic, but Need Financing
By Stephen Friday January 11, 2008 Following up on our post earlier this week about the design refinements of the 1027 Wilshire tower in City West, we spoke to Central City Group Development to get an update on the project. As the story goes, ground-breaking has been pushed back until the third quarter of 2008 and funding is still up in the air. However, when asked whether they were confident to find a financial backer, we were told “absolutely.” Furthermore, their faith in Downtown’s long-term residential market has not wavered, as the large scale of 1027 Wilshire is not expected to change or go rental. The 52-story, 402-unit glass condominium project obtained entitlements in September 2006 and is currently in the plan check phase. -Redesigned City West Tower Wows, But Will It Get Built? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source: angelenic |
I really love this building. Not going to get my hopes up at all though, we've been shown quite a few times in the past and recently that nothing is for sure until it's actually complete.

Ooooo, purdy. I want one! :frog:
|
Don't count on it breaking ground in 2008 at ALL. That is unless the prediction that Real Estate will rebuild itself at year's end comes to fruition.
|
Hey,
where can I get that information regarding the proposed metro rail system? |
not in this thread. go to the LA forum and click on the transportation link.
|
i've always hated that building. The only thing good about it is its height. I hope they at least redesign it to be bland as hell. It looks like a 90's reincarnation of 1100 Wilshire. It belongs in China or Texas.
|
^ i agree with you it really doesnt look like a 20th century building lol
but the height is really perfect it will fill up the skyline hope they will start groundbreaking this year |
It's an overall fine building.
|
looks like a great building for the ever growing city of Los Angeles
|
Yeah, I like this design too! Any recent news?
|
Nope. The last I heard is that it may break grond in 2010(but probably later).
|
ooo, this building is good lookin...
i want to see it for real |
I wish it would get built a lot sooner though.
|
I wish so, too; though I seem to have a different taste for the look of new construction in Downtown than many other L.A. SSP forumers.
|
Definitely doesn't have an LA/SoCal look to it, but on the bright side one can look at it as contributing to architectural diversity. In a general sense, I like the bulk and mass it adds to the skyline; always a plus.
That parking ratio is a monster, does LA have a 1 off-street space per bedroom minimum requirement? |
^ I agree. I also think LA needs some super talls to make the skyline more visible, and astonishing. Nevertheless, it is still looking pretty good.
|
It doesn't look LA.
How it will be lit up? Thats something I would care about. Cause 100% of the tallest buildings are lit up, either neon sign or w/e. It looks so much like Gas Company Tower. THEY MUST LIT THE TOP! |
