WOW those are amazing photos - thanks for finding and sharing them!

Kelowna is going to have a great skyline for a smaller city in a couple years. Will really become a photographer's delight with the lake in the foreground and those arid mountains in the background.

Yeah, I love that last pano.
That 26 story Skye glass building, 15 story Madison, and whatever else is built on the CN lands will look amazing.

So what's the status of Skye? Sales?

vitc Oct 12, 2007 2:13 AM

Not 100% sure but I think it is almost sold out...

giallo Oct 12, 2007 3:24 AM

That last pano is really nice.

wisla_krakow Oct 12, 2007 5:28 AM

Oh, also I saw today that The Centuria is crowning. I just hope the roof looks better than the Discovery Pointe/Dolphins.

It's a unique cityscape. Kelowna looks like no other city in Canada. This is one of those textbook examples of how ongoing development can define and differentiate a city, even though anti-development types love to claim that development makes all cities look the same.

Yeah, and as defined by the city, that is only the cultural district. And, I agree with what you're saying. Although I wouldn't a more noticeable city center for Kelowna, it's also nice that have unique clusters of hi-rises.

Lead Oct 12, 2007 11:05 PM

Wow, if those 6 blocks are all built up with those highrises Kelowna is going to have such an amazing skyline. After seeing that last pano I think it's going to be a lot like Vancouver with not only a great skyline but an amazing backdrop as well.

Using my most AMAZING photochop skills, I have produced this fine piece of art. It depicts the Madison and Skye (their locations may not be exact either).

Again, please don't judge, lol.

That's cool I hope it's not light brown with a red roof! :)

It's cool seeing the skyline changing so quickly.

vitc Oct 21, 2007 8:59 PM

Nice! But the Skye would be over to the extreme left( you can see the preloading peak through there ). The height seems about right. The currect location you have looks about right for the icon ( 21 - 22 ). Also might want to put something in where the westin was as something will be going there ( again current rumor is that the centuria company will be doing something there ).

Also, skye preloading looks to have started the unloading!

wisla_krakow Oct 21, 2007 10:06 PM

Nice, I wish they would have built the Westin. Do you have a link or something?

No kidding, every building in Kelowna looks the same.

That's about as far from beige and red roof as you can get.

The "Bill Bennett" Bridge. There's a travesty.
