Any idea why it's set so far back from the road? Sure would hate to see Lamar widened in the future--no better way to kill place.

This is happening right now, on the stretch between Braker and Yager. It's going to help so much. But I don't know what they're going to do about the creek. https://www.austintexas.gov/departme...ements-project

I drive down this stretch every day and do notice the work going on. My hope is that Parmer/Lamar/Yager/35 will be a somewhat attractive and green major intersection someday. |
RFP is out for the Ryan Dr property (just off N Lamar, so I figured I'd go with this thread)
https://www.austintexas.gov/financeo...cfm?sid=134842 I haven't dug through the attached documents yet so I'm not sure if there's anything new. |

Given that this is going to be at the nexus of the Red Line/Orange Lines, it needs to be as big a project as possible. The example projects the city staff put together were perfectly nice, but were not really any different from any of the other projects currently going up on N Lamar. I saw some pretty big names on that site visit list so I'm hopeful they'll see just how prime an opportunity this is. |

Whoa! Almost flatiron-esque.

not to geek but i'm always going to point out "perfect density" "gentle density" or "human scaled density"(still workshopping) when I see it. this is it. bravo

This looks great!

Is this the "whale" building? Damn, I haven't been in that area in a while. Used to go to Titaya's pretty frequently.
|
Yeah, that's pretty slick. That rock wall would look great with some flood lights to add to the dramatic look.
|
Kinda reminds me of London.
