I recently went to San Antonio for a business convention and had a little time to run around the city and see the sites.

http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k591/birdboy1/DSC_5526.jpg
This is the interior of Mission Concepcion which dates from the 1730's which is pretty freaking old for Texas.

http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k591/birdboy1/DSC_5318.jpg
The Alamo

http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k591/birdboy1/DSC_5567.jpg
This is Mission Espada which also dates from the 1730s.

http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k591/birdboy1/DSC_5536.jpg
Rosas Window, which is considered to be one of the greatest examples of Spanish colonial architecture in the southwest at Mission San Jose, which dates from the 1720s.

All of these and more missions are located within 20 miles of downtown San Antonio.

^Nice photos man. I've been to San Antonio, but only briefly, and all I really had time to do was eat, and sleep(flew from Nashville to SA, then drove to Monterrey, and flew back to Nashville from SA). Anyways, San Antonio's missions are amazing, but its always been weird to me that San Antonio's skyline is how it is considering the city's size.

Looking forward to more photos.

San Antonio has a very well preserved downtown with tons of awesome vistas from the street. It has a large amount of art deco which I didn't expect. I can't wait to go back and spend more time there.

Great shots, and yeah, San Antonio is freaking awesome! Well-preserved architectural history, and a generally fun vibe all around. Definitely my favorite large Texas city, no doubt!

This was taken at a small rodeo in Keremeos, BC near Penticton.

PS: I am not a fan of rodeos so I left before the calf roping.

Tis an old d70nikon converted to an infrared camera George, the filter they put in retains a small bit of colour like light browns, blues, yellows but the greens are total white.I havent touched the W.B setting otherwise I would get the mostly "red" infrared image.
Here is a s.o.o.c shot...

http://www.porteryates.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Burned-Hall-Wiggle1.gif

I came across a burned building recently when I was out shooting. I took some shots of the interior and continued on my day. When I was reviewed my photos I noticed the point of view between two of the shots shifted just slightly enough to give the illusion of 3D. I made a .gif that quickly switches between the two images. It may be a little bumpy but the element of depth is unmistakably visible. I messed with this technique before, usually the foreground shift is a little less severe. I thought about making a whole thread with these fake 3D images, maybe something to work on when I get home.

Bulliver, where did you take those black and white photos with the porcelain dolls? That place looks epic.

It's an abandoned homestead in rural Alberta. The dolls themselves are on a bed upstairs in this tiny house:

I found an unread copy of the Edmonton Journal from March 22, 1969 inside. I suspect that's about the time this place was last occupied.

There are literally hundreds of these abandoned houses all over Alberta. A couple friends of mine are huge into the 'rurex' scene and sometimes I tag along with them. And yeah, some of these spots are pretty epic. I remember one place, the kitchen table was still set for breakfast circa 1955. It's like people just decided to walk away from their homes one day...

Wow thats really cool. I came upon a similar house way outside of west Houston that had newspapers that were unread from 1970 and in really good shape considering they had been lying in a house with holes in the roof and broken windows everywhere. Really awesome photos of the houses too man, great job. I love exploring abandoned buildings, especially old 1920s hotels.

I left downtown from work and headed home this afternoon, then a friend of mine called and wanted to shoot some downtown tonight, so we headed back downtown. An old warehouse in South Main was being cleared out, and a guy randomly asked what we were taking photos of and then said we could go in and take some photos of the warehouse before its sold and go up on the rooftop. Pretty awesome views.
