Going up the mainly one lane road to Kodaikanal, which is at 7,500' above sea level so it has a moderate instead of a tropical climate which made it popular with the
British during the colonial era so they could escape the heat of the southern plains.

Pillar Rock, Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, India. On a clear day, one can look all the way down to the plains below.

Boating on the lake in Kodai. The clouds parted in the afternoon and we had a sunny boat ride. Sometimes clouds collide with the hills. Sometimes Kodai is higher than the clouds.
An American who has lived in Kodai almost her whole life was telling me that in the last monsoon, they had 9" of rain in 2 hours! The only real road up to Kodai was washed out for days.
There have been a few winters where the lake has had a thin coating of ice.

Chennai, India's 4th largest city which is located on the Bay of Bengal. We landed here from Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific and worked our way east across the tip of India to the Arabian Sea.

The Cathedral (and tomb) of St. Thomas in Chennai.
Thomas was one of the 12 disciples of Christ and he came to India to spread the gospel in the 1st century and was killed near Chennai. Christians are more prevalent in south India than in other parts of the country, but are still a small minority.

anyways, i cant post everything here, but i started a photothread, and they're mostly random. by mostly i mean only 1 or 2 were taken intentionally (if it makes sense, or planned i guess), and the rest were taken from my car!

i love driving automatic when im taking pictures, but the other times i'll drive stick, which is amazing.
