[Bedford] Sandy Lake by Armco Communities | Proposed

Bedford's ever expanding footprint is on the verge of growing again. Armco Communities owns approimately 523 acres of land adjacent to Sandy Lake off of Hammonds Plains Road and is slowly moving through the approval process.

Currently HRM is undertaking a Watershed Study which will determine how water/sewer services will expand into the area. Once finalized Armco will then have to go through a secondary process for their lands.

I have some reservations about this project especially in regards to its impact on the Sackville River Watershed and the additional traffic load on Hammonds Plains Road.

They have very prematurely started clearing a lot of trees out of here. It wasn't too long ago this area was planned as 15-20 years off in the city's eyes. Armco fells they are 1-2 years off from approval, I think that is a little hopeful.
