Well how about Two London Place (One London Place phase two). There was a recent announcement from Sifton that if they find an anchor tenant, they will build the second tower due to a lack of space in One London Place.

The Crown on King Two is also proposed.

Is Two London Place actually proposed or is it just a rumour?

I should add Crown on King II.

Wow they're actually talking about building Two London Place? That would be awesome!

That would give London two towers over 100 meters since the spire will make it 110 meters tall technically. Even to its roof of 85 meters it would still be the 10th tallest in London I think.

I am most interesting in the new city hall...I was actually speaking with someone at city hall earlier this week and to be honest the deal being proposed with Western sounds like a joke....great deal for UWO terrible deal for the city.

Same with the Casino I do not really get it, are we talking a full on with tables casino or just slots? Also why not just allow Western Fair to go and be a full blown casino...build a nice hotel near them and be done with it.

The casino sounds like the worst plan of all. Sure it'll suck in some revenue, but it will suck it like a tick from the blood the poor and easily addicted. For all the shiny lights, casino's are the biggest blight on an urban landscape you can have.

Expanding the Western Fair is great IMO. While gaming can feed on the weak, low income or those addicted to, the same can be said to other vices we have. Since Ontario made the decision during Bob Rae's disastrous tenure, gambling is legal and something our government is addicted for the revenue, regardless of political stripes. Increased gaming is much easier for the electorate stomach than a general tax increase.

When it comes down to it people are going to gamble regardless, whether its here in London if we expand, or Brantford or Windsor if we don't or if it were restricted/illegal. The Western Fair might as well except the inevitable, and keep gaming money in our area rather than see it float to other communities.

Yes, that might be true, but to me cities that go after gambling have basically thrown in the towel economically and said "we suck at everything else, let's go for gambling". Except for high tourist towns like Niagara Falls, what other successful cities are hungering after casinos? Vancouver, Ottawa, San Francisco, Boston? Nope, it's cities like Detroit, Toledo, and Gary Indiana that have secured casinos. I would rather be in the former league rather than the latter. London could be so much better - we should be building on the success of the JLC, Market and continuing that momentum, not resorting to casinos. Just my opinion.

C'mon. Slots at Western Fair..."Your mini vacation"

Sad, really sad. A mini-vacation? the government encouraging the plebeians to get robbed by the one-armed bandits. Fun?!?!? Nothing is more lame than watching fruit/bells, etc. whirl by as you lose your paycheck.

But then I think gambling is the most stupid and colossal waste of money.

Meh, I wouldn't mind having a Brantford 'style' casino in London. It would just be what we have now plus some tables.

I like to play Blackjack every now and then, and it would be nice to have it here rather than an hour + drive away.

If you build it, they will come. I don't think it will encourage gambling much, it will just let people from London that gamble out of town put money into our city coffers instead.

Exactly and I agree, also why I mentioned them building a decent hotel in the area...one being that people might actually come for the casino but more importantly all of the hockey being played it might give people more of a reason to stay in London for the night and spend some time and money.
