The design by TFP Farrells, BIAD, ARUP and MVA will be the tallest building in Beijing. The new ‘Z15’ Tower, located in the east of Beijing at the heart of the new CBD extension, will be over 120 storeys, and more than 500m high. As part of this 30-hectare masterplan at the core of this district, the design incorporates 2,000,000m2 of office space, six-star hotels, luxury service apartments and high-end retail that connects to the existing metro station and adjacent shopping mall. This 300,000m2 tower includes Grade-A office space over 60 floors; 20 floors of serviced apartments, and an approx. 300-key / 20-storey hotel, complete with state-of- the-art facilities. The tower’s smooth contemporary vertical curve gives the building an elegant expression that will assist in maximizing the floor area at the top and provide structural stability at the tower’s base. Z15 will utilize the latest sustainable technology, materials and engineering concepts. Situated close to the new CCTV Headquarters and China WTC 3, Z15 will become an international iconic landmark of China’s future.

Ha. Actually Beijing isn't quite as bad as that. It's not terrible every day but it depends on the time of year and the wind direction. When it's bad, it's bad.

It's too bad actually because Beijing is actually a very beautiful city. If not for the pollution it would be a hot international tourist destination, I'm sure.

I would say that in many ways you're more free in China than in a Western country. The difference is (and this is kind of a big deal) that you can't say anything bad about the government. And it's a government that deserves to have a lot of bad things said about it.

Installation of the triple-glazed windows has begun on the lower section of the tower as evidenced in photos by Gaoloumi user Starry universe. The images show a highly textured panel of glass and enlarged metal mullions with phase 3B of the China World Trade Center under construction in the distance. They offer a glimpse of what a fully clad China Zun Tower will look like when construction finishes in 2018.

It's not my government but otherwise, it's not really oppressive at all.
I would say that in many ways you're more free in China than in a Western country. The difference is (and this is kind of a big deal) that you can't say anything bad about the government. And it's a government that deserves to have a lot of bad things said about it.

The censorship is a pretty big deal as well. Particularly if you're a Westerner trying to access Western media, and it feels like you're using a dial-up modem because the Great Firewall slows down your connection so much.
