New Yorkization

I wrote a blog post (http://manifestomultilinko.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-yorkization.html) about New York City's initiatives to close off streets for pedestrian use.

What was really interesting about this experiment in New York is that it had zero to do with pedestrians. It was ALL about improving traffic flow (read how quickly you can drive from point a to point b).

Broadway runs diagonally so it tends to mess-up New York's very carefully timed traffic lights.

Funny how things work out sometimes.
