There are several major projects underway and /orproposed.
Major companies that have experience and bid on the job should have some guarantee to their work. If (like always) it goes over time and over budget it should be the builder's responsibility.
Why is it always the tax payer?
I watched a documentary several years ago about the San Fransico freeway repair after the earth quake.
The contractors bid and it was one price and if the they were early, there was a bonus of full payment.
The men worked at their own speed where several workers would rent a hotel room and hot-bunk it. as long as they were safe they could work. So they went 24/7 in crews and finshed like 5 months early at full pay.
Why is every government job late and over budget.
In 1976, I recall them bolting in the seats at the olympic stadium just days before the opening event. And it was shoddy workmanship. Did the O last?
In this day and age and the economy there must be competition in the building trades.
If we are loyal and go local there should be some form of respect by the winning bidder.
Pride and quality.
Pan Am stadium and hopefully expansion to 24000 seats. :whip: :whip:
City Hall, Lister Block $$$$$$$$$$
