I do
But where is Yantai? I've never heard of it before.

Me too. I think it really looks good, especially the top. I´d like to see more renderings to get an impression of what it looks like from street level.

It's the biggest city you've never heard of. 6.5 million people about 600 kms (what is that, about 400 miles or so ?) south-east of Beijing.

Interesting design, I could see something like that working in Manhattan, (or another densely constructed city). But these tall towers surrounded by a sea of open space just don't work for me.

currently Yantai has a small but growing skyline:

Is this Yintai, are they spelled the same. Yintai is about 3 hours north of Qingdao and I have been to Yintai a few times to fly to Beijing but never saw its skyline or beaches. So is Yantai and Yintai the same city?

It is Yantai (not "Yintai") you have been to. ;)

I really like the design. Lots of visual interest in the top 1/4 of the mass.
What is the "pattern" I'm seeing in the cladding? Is that intentional? That would be rather odd to have different color / sheen of glass to give some sort of artistic design, no?

i like the small tower in the background with the exterior elevators. nice touch. some of these supertalls could use that type of exciting stuff. not too many if any are using that type of elevator in their designs.
