Full project plan available at http://www.mission.ca/Page306.aspx. Heres some excerpts and links

In the month of April 2008, a team of Urban Designers refined two options for Silverdale Neighbourhood One into a draft preferred plan. This is being analyzed in conjunction with technical studies to ensure that the plan is environmentally responsible, economically viable and will work for existing and future citizens of Mission. A power point presentation given to Council on May 20th can be viewed (part 1 (http://www.mission.ca/AssetFactory.aspx?did=3012) and part 2 (http://www.mission.ca/AssetFactory.aspx?did=3013)).

The results of 1 Council Policy, 27 Neighbourhood Plan Advisory Committee (NPAC) meetings, 4 Open Houses, 28 Technical Studies and the efforts of a team of design professionals has been assembled as a draft plan for the first neighbourhood in a portion of the Silverdale Urban Area. Click here (http://www.mission.ca/AssetFactory.aspx?did=3143) for the document. You are seeing the marked up version which is being considered by NPAC.

The Silverdale Urban Residential area represents a 1435 acre portion of the larger, approximate 3400 acre designated Urban Reserve area of Mission. The subject hillside area of is located north of the Lougheed Highway, and to the west of the existing urban core.

It is still just a typical sprawling single family home neighbourhood, albeit one that respects the natural environment several shades better than the status quo.

I'm sorry, but you cannot call a project sustainable if it has curvilinear streets, no meaningful mixed-use core, or connections to transit.
