Big fire at Shangri-La right now!!! Huge flames and smoke billowing from a garbage bin near the entrance off Alberni. Three fire trucks on the scene; Alberni closed off...

I'm thinking with a garbage bin full of insulation and wood it might have been some combustible materials or a solvent rag... there were 5 firefighters hanging over the scene trying to douse the flames; took about 20 minutes
How common are bin fires like this at construction sites? The flames in this one were about 5 meters high at one point...
this is not a good week for Shangri-La; first plywood flying off the top and hitting cars below, now a fire
the weekend can't come soon enough for those guys...

Shitty news. Hopefully this won't scrap the tower. I've been anxiously awaiting this one.

the weekend can't come soon enough for those guys...I've seen a few small fires start at construction sites. A couple times were due to welding slag dropping onto combustable material (i.e., ABS pipe). The other happened after some soldering, where some insulation caught on fire.
