Walking around the neighbourhood yesterday with my daughter, I noticed this tony little infill which is already under construction:

The developers are Barry Padolsky and Daoust Construction. I must sat that, despite having a driveway on Laurier, they smartly take advantage of the network of secret laneways that exist in that block. Most of them are not (or no longer) publicly-owned but they remain as rights-of-way on title.

I can't wait for the price list...

One of my good friend's used to live there until August of 2006 when she was "kicked" out to make way for the renovations. I really missed that apartment, they had such a strong sense of ambiance. I used that use that ROW a few times but no one complained.

I know one place is a French diplomatic office, so I am sure it is only open Monday to Friday. So little complaining.

Can you tell in the plan if the driveway to Laurier is going to be used or is it just for walking?

i would love to see how this turns out.

Some progress pictures I took on my evening walk tonight:

The two Victorian houses dominate the front and the condo entrance is discreetly tucked in between the two:

Can't wait for that model suite to open. At $875,000 per apartment I'm thinking it might look a little different than The Pinnacle...

You can barely see the body of the 8-unit condo at the back of the two houses.

I went to visit their model suite. Very nice layout and interior designer had done a good job with the place. I really liked how the elevator opens up into the unit instead of a corridor. I did not like the bathroom all that much... the toilet itself looked out of place .. and the shower was "meh" ... For it's listing price I was expecting something a bit more fancy and bigger.

Very interesting project. The architect for this is top notch but I don't think they are the developers....architects for the project yes, but developers no.

I haven't been by this area in a while, but is it u/c and any idea when it is expected to be finished?

Shouldn't take too long, they've been at it for a while now. The two Victorians that are part of the development are probably taking more time seeing that they are maintaining all the heritage aspects of the buildings. I went to see them too. Some of the larger apartments could easily be 3 or 4 bedrooms just by virtue of their size.

This could be my favourite infill project ever. If only developers started thinking this way 20-30 years ago, we'd have a lot more of the classy old stuff around here...

This project (http://www.strathconaontheparc.com) must be just about done, as several of the units are now available on MLS. I agree that this is a great infill. Nice job people!

I guess the status on this one should be changed to completed?
