View Full Version : One night in Denver

On my recent trip out West I spent a few days in Boulder. Being so darn close, I made sure I had at least one night to spend in Denver, one of the cities I hadn't seen yet that I really wanted to.

Glowrock was nice enough to meet up with me and show me around. For that, I thank you sir! A side note, if you meet up with Glowrock, take your walking shoes and give him a camera. We traveled at a fair clip, so a lot of my shots ended up blurry. All in all a great night, it's always better to see a city alongside someone that lives there and can put it into perspective.

So...I only had one night, and I didn't get to visit several areas of downtown that I would have liked, so you'll have to make due with the shots I got.

I dug Denver. The downtown is really big (I'm talking geography here) and is very walkable. If I had to criticize it I'd say that the architecture is pretty bland (yeah, I'm the first to say that, right?), and I expected a little more pedestrian activity based on what I'd heard about Denver, but hey, I didn't get to see all of downtown.

Enough blabbing....

It's Denver:

I could have swore I've seen this before...oh yeah Vegas!

I can guess where the picture is with the blue light. It is either by the mall stop between blake st. and Market st. on the mall, or it is down at the end of the mall on the bridge that goes over the railroad tracks by the trainstation. THey have those thingy majingys  things there that resemble the mountains. THere are those blue lights underneath them.

Anyways, great thread. I enjoyed. You made it around downtown for one night.

Yeah, Glowrock walked my ass off. It was a good night, though.

A bus stop is right. I thought they looked more like the roof of the airport, but I have no idea which came first.

Nice pics! Does anyone know who designer the Denver Art Museum? It somewhat looks like a Rem Koolhaas production.

The Denver Art Museum (the new section pictured in this thread) was designed by Daniel Liebeskind. The old section
(not pictured) was designed by Geo Ponti.
