yeah, not the correct subforum, but AK should be in the southeast...

i passed through a couple of times this summer. looks like a city with a lot of potential, especially rehabbing the historic building stock.

oh, and before some smartass pipes in with "where are all the people? what a desolate place, blahblahblah..." please don't; there weren't that many interesting people out (mostly elderly tourists and bums, no Clinton sightings sadly.)

I think this is the first time I've ever seen an Arkansas thread.

Little Rock looks surprisingly urban from the street scenes. I had no idea that there were so many historic buildings, and the skyscrapers are taller than what I expected as well.

Now that's a place seldom seen. For some reason Arkansas all seems a little mysterious to me but you gave us a good Presidnet:

President Clinton Ave... love it:

I like the Rock. Downtown is large for a city/metro its size and there are other cool pockets of town too. The west side seems to be booming too. Nice park/zoo as well.

I like the river setting and the rolling hills. It reminds me a lot of Tulsa but just a little more green and lush.

I was in Little Rock about 8 years ago for work... spent a about a month there overall and really liked the area. It seems that there is a lot more going on downtown now than when I was there. Isn't there some complex with a brewpub downtown on the river?... I got piss-drunk by myself the first night I was there and forgot where I parked my rental car. Thanks for bringing back the memories. LR looks nice.

It's a little quiet for my liking, but it seems like a charming city. I didn't expect the buildings to be that tall.

Actually, that's very few people compared to what I've saw downtown last week. The downtown activity has really picked up, especiallly in the River Market District. I was floored by how efficient the River Rail service is. They have already installed the connection between downtown Little Rock and downtown North Little Rock. Larger cities (like the one I'm in) could learn a thing or two from it's progress. Here's the River Rail map from Central Arkansas Transit Authority:

A city not often seen here. Nice stroll L. And while the streetcars are cool, and there are some nice older buildings, I get a bit of a forlorn feeling looking at these pics. Maybe it's just me.

btw, did the gal spill her drink once she rounded the corner?
