It seems like there's a lot of new homes in downtown Charlotte. Were there a lot of empty lots before?

Some were lots. A lot of the newer rows and houses were actually projects that were knocked down.

Great shots. Charlotte definitely has some underrated inner-city neighborhoods.

One thing that irks me though is how most of the so-called "urban housing" in these shots either has garages facing the street, is surrounded by a fence, or has a large strip of grass in between the building and the sidewalk. Maybe i'm splitting hairs here, but to me, things like that significantly take away from the street life and urbanity of a place, and that isn't a criticism of Charlotte exclusively, because the majority of "urban" residential projects in new growth areas seem to be like that. Hopefully it'll change in the future.

Very clean looking, prefer the older structures to the modern as that row home style is what is occuring like a rash across the country. Beautiful old homes and well maintained, nice to see. The two tallest towers downtown are sexy!
