Yeah :haha: i made that thread and put it in 'Building and Architecture' because i didn't know cityscape existed , then a mod moved it
It was lucky i made a desktop shortcut for it otherwise i still probably wouldn't know about it :whip:

Is that your house or dream house?!! Man a house like that would be so expensive here in Seattle. With a pool like that I wouldn't be on the computer at all. I would be swimming (which I love) all the time! I'll post a model of my dream house later on. But it's based here in Seattle so I didn't put a pool.:(

immigrate to Brazil. Housing is quite cheaper here (comparing same quality housing). Computers on the other hand are thee times more expensive than in US. But who cares? You will be on the pool anyway! :)

Well Yes, maybe when I can actually leave the country with out the permission of the evilest evil---MOTHERS!! No actually she won't let me I'm only 15.. The thing I hate about Seattle is that everything is expensive!! We have one of the highest taxes in the country for almost everything. Oh your from Brazil? Escrave Isaura? I love that show!!

thats a good idea everyone post a model of you dream house
modeling my own house would be too boring and the result would be just as dull as the process of making it. :haha: but modeling a dream house, now that would be fun!! i might consider doing that real soon. a modern castle? ohhh

Aleks
Aug 31, 2007, 6:01 AM
My dream house is simple, economic, environmentally friendly (I am an environmentalist), and modern. I have it made but I'm lazy right now so maybe later. I don't need a big house just a house that saved earth.

rbowk
Aug 31, 2007, 6:23 AM
yeah at least someone on this bloody earth cares cause most of these people around you and me dont no that they are going to be underwater in 15-50 years but i am going to tell you that i am one of those people who care and my family cares as well.

^^^Thats how nature plans , but that's what humans are here to solve IMO

Aleks
Aug 31, 2007, 6:45 AM
I love nature. I have to limit my showers, time on t.v. but the computer just hypnotizes me into using it to evil stuff like Myspace. Actually you'll see something in my city pretty soon that has to do with Nature..

rbowk
Aug 31, 2007, 7:32 AM
ummmmmmmmmmm i am thinking about getting myspace

Aleks
Aug 31, 2007, 7:42 AM
I hate that thing. I barely use it now. I was thinking about deleting it last week but decided not too. Don't get it and if you do get one only add your closest's friend or too many unwanted people will try to chat with you. In my case a (excuse me for saying this) "Fag" keeps sending me messages and bothering me on Myspace. ugh.. But that's a personal problem. Just don't get one.

 is that your room ?

This is not my dream house but a friend's house which is under construction.
It's to perfect scale to save them measuring up for furnishing's etc. and paint colours and stuff
It was a waste of time because he can't work out how to use SU :haha: :hell:

I didn't add windows , because i didn't have the measurements

Aleks
Sep 1, 2007, 7:05 AM
I hate single floor houses. They take up too much land that can be cut in half with a two floor house.

Mocholate
Sep 1, 2007, 7:07 AM
we have plenty of room here :D

Aleks
Sep 1, 2007, 7:13 AM
That's just it. Maximize the space, male the pool smaller, add another storey to the house, whatever it takes to save nature. Sorry if I'm annoying I'm just too much of a hippie!!:haha: and :koko:

Mocholate
Sep 1, 2007, 7:31 AM
I do agree and i admit i'm a hippie too and our urban spawl has come at the cost of water shortages etc, but if everyone pitched in and did their bit for the environment we could all live in plenty of space , there are ways to provide energy and stuff that doesn't impact on the environment

Aleks
Sep 1, 2007, 7:43 AM
yeah, instead of using air conditioning to cool houses it's better to add a tank under the house, when it rains in the summer the tank fills up. The water won't evaporate because soil under houses is usually cold. The when it's hot just open a faucet that allows water to go up to your roof and run down tubes in the walls. The water will keep your house cold and you'll save energy. Then when the water goes back to the tank it gets cold again. It's also good to use in droughts and to water the lawn/garden.

Mocholate
Sep 1, 2007, 9:21 AM
COOL idea :haha:
The best start is to have your house properly insulated especially windows
Mine is just a timber clad home and in summer at 40c / 104f i don't need the A/C infact i don't have one at all

Sep 1, 2007, 1:39 PM
neat house Mo! moce!

Aleks
Sep 1, 2007, 6:58 PM
Yes. I think there's a foam thing that you put on your roof and when it's cold the foam keeps warm from a single heater inside the house. Then when it's cold just the foam keeps cold. I don't know how they do it but technology is awesome.... It's also good to have an open floor plan to keep air circulating which keeps the house at a steady temperature and recycles the air.

Mocholate
Sep 1, 2007, 7:04 PM
oh , the expanding foam stuff ?
They spray it on - it expands and fills every crevice ,then when it's hard they trim off the excess , goes in the walls too

Aleks
Sep 1, 2007, 7:16 PM
I.D.K it's some foam stuff. Man we should start a thread on green living in the Green Architecture forum.

Lol, O.K. I almost have my dream house finished. I just need 1 more floor, lights, and to paint/decorate a bit. Then I will [B]try [B] to make some renderings and if those don't work out I'll just post pics from S.U.

Hope you guys are still interested in this thread!!!

I have 1 small sneak peek to show:

Remember that this house is still in development so the layout might change.

The glass looks to thin. How can I make it a little mm.... foggier?
I tried using glass #1 and 2 but the things behind the glass come out all weird and stuff.

Oh, that's what would be my sisters room if this house was real. I fucked up the second floor thought so I have to almost re-do all of it.

The house has 4 floors and a roof top deck. 2 master bedrooms, 1 guest room, theater, library, piano hall, play room, a 4 STORY GLASS ATRIUM!!, gym, office, 3 rooms (not including master of guest). balconies on the rooms facing the atrium.

So many wishes......

What do you guys think of my rendering? What can I improve on?

Mocholate
Sep 29, 2007, 5:58 AM
looks really good  you could make it better by showing us more:haha:

for the glass ,download the materials from Kerkythea website , theres around 15 types of glass material

these files need to be unzipped into Kerkythea, not Sketchup btw

Aleks
Sep 29, 2007, 6:08 AM
K. I'll dl them later.

I think I can finish the fourth floor by tomorrow. I also have to edit the second floor because the layout is crappy. The first floor is almost o.k. I don't have to edit much. I will post shots tomorrow before 11:59 st most!!!

Why don't you make a dream house Mo?

Mocholate
Sep 29, 2007, 6:21 AM
 will look out for the update

i'm too busy making my real home into my dream :D
maybe i can sketch my plans but i'd rather just get out and do the reno's

Aleks
Sep 30, 2007, 5:21 AM
O.K. I had said that I would get the renderings today. Unfortunately fixing the second floors took longer than I expected and I had to add lights, fix windows, add a fireplace, blah blah blah... I had to re-scale things too. So I promise they will be in tomorrow.

The good news is that I have a new/almost full page to display my dream house
:D

Aleks

Yeah, S.U. is way better than Sim City 4. and it's free....

Anyways I got tired of waiting for the renders so I'll post floor-by-floor updates.

Map of first floor. I think everything is self explanatory. Just in case here is a list of the things on the first floor:
1. Living Room
2. Kitchen
3. Dining Room
4. Entrance
5. Fireplace section
6. Small powder room(no shower)
7. Close
8. Garage

Living Room and Dining Room:

Kitchen and Fireplace (the fire place was added when I was working on the fourth floor but I'll post renders later):

Powder Room:

Entrance, Garage, and closet:

That's all for today but I will try to get the second floor tomorrow. Peace.
