London's most exclusive... Knightsbridge

Along with Mayfair and Belgravia, Knightsbridge holds the crown as London's most exclusive, swanky, super-posh, mega-expensive area. Famous for Harrods and Harvey Nichols department stores, it has some of the capital's best shopping, top hotels and Michelin stared restaurants. It also has the most expensive property in the world - the world's most expensive apartment was recently sold for £100 million (that's $200 million American friends) off plan (the block hasn't even been built yet).

I've got a lot of pictures of this area, taken at various times.

This new and rather unimpressive-looking building is called The Knightsbridge. It currently claims to be the world's most exclusive apartment block. A small studio will set you back around £600,000 - a penthouse at least £25 million. The service charge is something like £60,000 a year and includes everything imaginable...

Instead of buildings, here are some of the cars you see around Knightsbridge.

You'll notice a lot of Dubai number plates. August is a popular time for our rich friends from the Gulf - they come over to London to hang out. They tend to stick to a small area - Harrods and the 5star hotels in the immediate vicinity, driving around in their cars and generally showing off. It's quite an extraordinary sight...
