we are in the Berlin Holocaust memorial. Despite of the cost of this monument, an estimated 400 cracks have appeared in the 2,711 concrete slabs only after two years.
The stelae were produced near Berlin from very hard, grey-coloured, self-compacting concrete. A very very hard concrete, I guess: a lot of seismic tests were done but, according to the authorities, just vibrations from the new US embassy building and a suburban railway tunnel could have affected the site.
