I have a question for you Las Vegas people........Why is the airport so close to downtown? Doen't that put serious restrictions on height? Anyway, just wondering. :D

The runway is parallel to the HIGHRISE strip and is angle meaning that the planes will be flying east and away from the highrises and hotels.
The main runway however is east/ west which puts downtown or the strip out of harms way.
